IT Support Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to the Help Desk Ticketing System to provide daily technical support to all members of the organization, and analyze and report on Help Desk performance
  • Work with end-users and technology vendors to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Perform equipment maintenance as necessary
  • Provide end-user assistance including training, documentation, and equipment / event setup / takedown
  • Image / reimage laptops and desktops, including transferring data from previous device and installing additional software and settings as needed
  • Maintain accurate inventory and reports of equipment
  • Prepare, document, and work with vendors to recycle / dispose of retired equipment
  • Responsibility for maintaining an up-to-date inventory of the organization’s technology assets utilizing the existing inventory tracking base
  • Troubleshooting and providing support to employees for various online resources and applications
  • Provide technical support that includes support of audio-visual equipment and other technical requirements of an educational technology center
  • Completing tasks / projects assigned or requested by the Director of Network and Support Services
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team and with a variety of hardware and software vendors, including printers, copiers, and manufacturer warranty repair technicians

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related field with a minimum of 1-2 year’s experience in a similar position. Exceptional interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.

Google Apps, Comp TIA A+, and / or other industry certifications are preferred.

Previous experience in an educational environment is a plus
